FAQs. Your Questions Answered.

What is ADHD coaching?

ADHD coaching is a collaborative process that helps individuals better understand how their ADHD impacts daily life while developing practical strategies and supports that work with their unique brain. Coaching focuses on areas such as executive functioning, emotional regulation, self-awareness, organization, follow-through, and navigating everyday challenges. Rather than telling you what to do, coaching helps you build insight, identify what is getting in the way, and create sustainable approaches that fit your life.

What is executive functioning support?

Executive functioning refers to the mental processes that help us plan, organize, prioritize, regulate emotions, manage time, initiate tasks, and follow through on goals. Executive functioning support helps you better understand where challenges are occurring and develop practical systems, strategies, and accommodations that align with your strengths and needs.

Why do I know what needs to be done but still struggle to do it?

This is one of the most common experiences for individuals with ADHD and executive functioning challenges. The issue is rarely a lack of knowledge, intelligence, motivation, or effort. Often, difficulties with task initiation, emotional regulation, working memory, overwhelm, capacity, or executive functioning create barriers between knowing and doing. Together, we explore what is contributing to that disconnect and identify supportive ways forward that work with your unique self.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. While many clients have a formal ADHD diagnosis, others are exploring whether ADHD may be part of their experience or simply recognize challenges related to executive functioning, overwhelm, emotional regulation, or follow-through. Coaching can provide support regardless of where you are in your journey.

Do you work with adults?

Yes. I work with adults who are navigating ADHD, executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, overwhelm, life transitions, and the daily demands of work, relationships, parenting, and personal responsibilities. Whether you have recently been diagnosed or have been managing ADHD for years, coaching provides space for greater understanding, support, and growth.

Do you work with parents?

Yes. Parenting can be especially challenging when supporting a child with ADHD, executive functioning differences, emotional intensity, or regulation challenges. Parent support sessions focus on increasing understanding, strengthening co-regulation strategies, reducing stress, and identifying practical ways to support both your child and yourself.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, deep processing past experiences, and addressing emotional or psychological concerns. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. It helps individuals develop greater self-awareness, understand patterns and challenges, identify goals, and create practical supports and strategies for moving forward. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, mental health treatment, or medical care.

What should I expect from the Connection Session?

The Connection Session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore whether coaching feels like a good fit. We will discuss what brings you to coaching, the challenges you are experiencing, your goals, and any questions you may have about the coaching process. There is no pressure or obligation—this conversation is designed to help you determine whether working together feels supportive and aligned with your needs.

Do you work with highly sensitive individuals or women experiencing hormonal changes?

Yes. Many clients seek support because they feel emotionally overwhelmed, highly sensitive, or notice increased challenges with focus, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and daily life during periods of hormonal change.

Whether you're navigating ADHD, sensory overwhelm, heightened emotional intensity, perimenopause, menopause, postpartum changes, or simply feeling like life has become harder to manage, coaching provides a supportive space to better understand what you're experiencing and create practical supports that fit your unique needs.

Do you offer virtual coaching?

Yes. All coaching sessions are offered virtually, allowing clients to access support from the comfort of their home, office, or other preferred location. Virtual coaching provides flexibility while maintaining the connection and collaboration that are essential to the coaching process.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Most coaching and support sessions are offered virtually, allowing flexibility and accessibility for clients throughout Minnesota and beyond. Limited in-person sessions may be available for individuals who are a good fit based on location, needs, and availability.

If meeting in person is important to you, we can discuss options during your Connection Session and determine what support format would be the best fit.

Do you work with schools and teachers?

Yes. Through consulting, professional development, and educational support services, I work with schools, teachers, and organizations seeking to better understand ADHD, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and neurodiversity. Services may include training, workshops, collaborative problem-solving, and consultation designed to create more supportive environments for students and educators.
